quartz glass crucible for silicon pulling, Heraeus
Quarzglas joins the silicon producer while they start
the manufacturing of silicon monocrystals. Following the
semiconductor process chain Heraeus fully accomponies
silicon along the product cycle via ingots and wafers to
a chip. Both fabrictated quartz glass used as material
for wafer handling and systems as well special quartz
glass ensembles for illumination or projection optics in
microlithography – quartz glass enables the phantastic
semiconductor story realizing Moore's law.
Semi-finished products
The Business Unit Basic Quartz develops, produces and
distributes semi-finished products made of natural and
synthetic quartz glass. As single producer worldwide,
GBM is able to produce electrical fused, flame fused and
synthetic quartz glass.
The diversity of available material qualities is unique
as well:
A broad palette of different shapes, measurements and
purity grades is an excellent presupposition for plenty
of applications.
Heraeus Quarzglas offers particular materials with
extraordinary features. The standard program of
Basic Quartz Products includes rods,
plates, ingots, tubes and flanges of transparent and
opaque quartz glass.
Special products complement the diversified
product-portfolio of Heraeus Quarzglas, e.g. for the
need of our customers cut wire saw cut plates, high
purity porous filter discs, stabilized quartz glass or
the extreme pressure- and temperature steady capillary
tubes.
Due to our Near-Net-Shape-Philosophy , customers are
often spared expensive machining-time. Another effect of
our philosophy is a minimization of material losses.
